On your device. ToolWall does not use a cloud, does not require an account, and does not transmit your tool inventory anywhere. Photos, names, serial numbers and loan records all live locally in app storage.
That means: if you delete the app, the data is gone with it.
Use Reports → Export to CSV to save a spreadsheet of every tool. Keep it in iCloud Drive, email it to yourself, or print it. The PDF insurance report (also under Reports) is another good record to keep.
Restore-from-backup as an in-app feature is on the roadmap. For now, the CSV is the manual backup path.
The simplest path is an encrypted iCloud or iTunes backup of your old phone, restored to the new one. ToolWall's data is included in that backup like any other app's data.
If you'd rather start fresh, export your tools to CSV first as a reference, then re-add the items.
Tap the tool, tap Edit, then re-take or re-pick the photo. iOS sometimes mishandles orientation on photos taken in unusual angles — re-shooting on a flat surface is the quickest fix.
Check that notifications are enabled for ToolWall: iOS Settings → Notifications → ToolWall. Maintenance tasks fire at 9am the morning a task is due. Recurring tasks reset automatically once you mark them done.
Not directly through the app — there's no account or sharing mechanism, by design. The CSV and PDF exports are the way to share a snapshot of your inventory with a partner, insurer or accountant.
From a tool's detail page, tap Loan Out and enter the borrower's name and (optionally) their phone number. The tool shows in the Loans tab as "Out" until you mark it Returned. There's no automatic reminder for overdue loans — you can see the days-out count in the list.
It's a printable, dated summary of every tool: photo, brand, model, serial, purchase date, value, and condition. The total replacement value is at the top. Send it to your insurer to set or update your coverage, or keep it filed in case you need to make a claim.
Not at this time. ToolWall is built for iPhone (iOS 17 and later).
