Privacy Policy
In short: KnowIT does not collect, store, share or sell any personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. Your study progress stays on your iPhone.
Who we are
KnowIT is developed and published by Ben Edwards, an individual developer based in Australia. In this policy, “I”, “me” and “we” mean Ben Edwards.
Information we collect
None. The app does not collect any personal information or usage data, and it does not send any data to me or to anyone else. Specifically, KnowIT:
- has no user accounts, sign-in or registration;
- has no server or backend, and does not connect to the internet to work;
- contains no analytics, crash-reporting or advertising tools;
- contains no third-party SDKs or libraries that collect data;
- does not track you across apps or websites, and does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA).
Data stored on your device
To work, the app saves your study progress and preferences on your iPhone only. This includes things like quiz history, review schedules, streaks, statistics and settings such as difficulty, theme and reminder choice.
- This data never leaves your device through the app, and I cannot see it.
- It is deleted when you delete the app.
- If you back up your iPhone with iCloud or a computer, Apple’s backup may include this app data. Those backups are controlled by you and Apple under Apple’s privacy policy, not by me.
Device permissions
KnowIT does not ask for access to your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or any other personal data on your device.
If you turn on the optional daily reminder in Settings, iOS will ask whether the app may send you notifications. Reminders are scheduled locally on your iPhone; no information is sent anywhere. You can turn them off at any time in the app or in the iOS Settings app.
Sharing and selling of data
Because no data is collected, none is shared with, disclosed to or sold to any third party.
Purchases
KnowIT is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. I do not receive your name, payment details or Apple ID. Apple’s handling of purchase information is covered by Apple’s own privacy policy.
Children’s privacy
KnowIT does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). The app has no chat, social features, links to accounts or advertising.
Your rights
I handle privacy in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Because I hold no personal information about you through the app, there is nothing for me to access, correct or delete. You can remove all app data at any time by deleting the app. If you email me, I will use your email address and message only to reply to you, and will not add you to any mailing list or share your details.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If a future version of the app ever collects data, this policy will be updated before that version is released.
